On June 17, Argentina commemorates the passing into immortality of General Martín Miguel de Güemes, who was an important Argentine military man and politician who actively participated in the war for Argentina's independence.
Güemes is considered a hero of the nation. He was the main organizer of the so-called Gaucho War, and thanks to his tactical skills, he managed to stop six invasion attempts by the Spanish armies.
For this reason, Martín Miguel de Güemes is considered a distinguished figure in the fight for the conservation of Argentine territory.
